The Russell Gallery

The Russell Gallery in Putney is hosting a four person show consisting of three RBA members, Judith Gardner, Pamela Kay and David Sawyer together with Salliann Putman, a member of the Small Paintings Group.

The exhibition runs from the 9th of April until the 2nd of May.

I will be signing books at the Mall Galleries, London from 2.30-4.30pm on 3rd December.

I am giving a talk to launch the book in Bath on 10th December, 8pm at Topping and Co Booksellers, Bath.

Josephine Harpur Gallery

Members of the Royal Society of British Artists will be showing with Josephine Harpur Gallery in November.

The exhibition, located at the Edmund Gallery in Bury St Emdunds, will be open from the 13th to the 26th of November.

The RBA Annual Open Exhibition 2015

Our next Annual Open Exhibition at Mall Galleries will be open from Wednesday the 11th of March until Saturday the 21st of March 2015, 10am to 5pm. Late night opening until 7pm on Thursday the 12th of March.

Two workshops will be held during the exhibition. The first, “Still life drawing and painting in oil”, takes place on Thursday 12th of March; the second, “Portraits” is on Saturday 14th of March.

As part of the Saddleworth Arts Festival, there will be an exhibition of Landscape and Figure paintings by John at his gallery in Delph.

The exhibition is open daily during the festival, 6th to 14th June 2015.

Carole Griffin

Join RBA member Carole Griffin for a masterclass in Still Life at Mall Galleries on Tuesday the 18th of August 2015.

Using only black and white chalks, find out how to create space, depth, shape, texture and light.

What to bring:

  • A3 or A2 Black or dark matt paper, suitable for chalk
  • White chalk/pastel, black chalk/pastel, charcoal
  • Putty rubber
  • Fixative (optional)
  • Packed lunch (cafes and shops are within walking distance)

The National Student Art Exhibition

The 13th National Student Art Exbition runs from the 7th to the 11th of July at Mall Galleries. Opening times are 10am to 5pm (Closed at 1pm on final day).

Held under the patronage of the Royal Society of British Artists as part of their commitment to supporting young artists, The National Student Art Exhibition features work by gifted and talented students from Schools, Colleges and Academies across the country.

The artists range in age from 11 to 18 years old. This is a unique opportunity to see artists at a very early stage in their careers.
